Great Show
The Chance Pena/Alison Kraus show was a show that was great. Alison and Union Station were by far the more musical with great instrumentals and wonderful vocal harmony. If there was one disappointing thing, it was that we purchased what we thought were reserved seats as the tickets had actual seat numbers printed on them. But, in general, the sound system was adequate. But when we got through the turnstile, we were told to sit anywhere we wanted. Some of Alisons songs are soft in tone and it was difficult to hear them well as far away as we had to sit. There was the option of going down on the outfield in front of the stage. All in all, the show was well worth the 350 mile round trip we drove to see him in Missoula. Chance is 80 now and he did most of the songs that made him popular. Even those who brought seats for themselves wound up having to stand as everyone else was doing so. He now mostly "talks" his songs as opposed to actually singing them. It was already pretty well filled and I would have had to stand for the three hours of the show. But that's been his style for quite awhile. I'm 75 and that would have been all but impossible.
